A Pyramid of Tiles is all about handmade ceramic tiles, everything they can be & so much more.
The offer ranges from made-to-order collections, to custom-made small series as well as exclusive one-off productions and all related design services. The special thing, all design & production steps are carried out by Christina Chalupsky in her studio in Frankfurt/Main. As unusual as the conceptual approach is, all work steps follow clear processes and are carried out with the greatest care. From modeling the tiles to applying the glaze to loading the kiln - attention to detail and dedication to the handmade process are her constant companions.
A Pyramid of Tiles started as a soul project. It unites crafts, spatial experience & being part of people's daily lives.
Christina Chalupsky, born and raised in Austria, has been drawing patterns since she can remember. After completing her master's degree at the Vienna University of Technology, she initially pursued a classical architectural career, which led her to Frankfurt, where she rediscovered her artistic side. She became a guest art student at the HfG Offenbach/Main with a focus on "spatial experiments". Working as an architect between the different fields; she can no longer imagine life without her tiles.
